Native English Speaker:

Ben has been teaching English in the VS Mengergasse for over thirteen years now. Initially part of the former NESSIE program, which brought English to multiple schools throughout the district, we have been happy to have him full-time for the past several years, in all classes and all grades.

Making use of songs, poems, games, dialog exercises, and various work materials, he encourages the children to actively participate in speaking English and coaches them on proper speech patterns and rhythm as well as tone, cadence, pronunciation and common gestures.

Ben takes special care to teach in an inclusive way, often pointing out similarities in tone and gestures between different languages, and promotes mutual respect and trust building as an essential part of learning. His experience helps him adjust the lessons to best fit the needs of each class, with eye to properly preparing them for middle school English.
